Peaceful Göteborg

dialogslussen01
Dialogslussen is organizing the first of discussion series called “Common Sense” (Sunt
Förnuft). The initiative derives from the philosophical meaning of “Common
Sense”, which is defined as the ability to perceive, understand, and judge
things which is shared by nearly all people.

The first topic of Common Sense series is titled “Peaceful Göteborg”. The aim of
the theme is to re-draw attention to the increasing level of criminality,
especially among young people in Göteborg and bring together professionals with
different backgrounds such a researcher, social worker, municipality, police, and media to
brainstorm over the challenges and produce recommendations for more effective
and coordinated actions to tackle the problems of criminal offences in
Göteborg. The conclusion of discussions will later on be published on
Dialogslussen's website, newspapers, internet media and shared with necessary
authorities on several further occasions.

Peaceful Göteborg discussions will comprise three major themes:

a)Multicultural Society and Youth/Juvenile Crime

b)Youth Crimes and Harm Reduction

c)Youth Crimes and Preventive Measures

We have also invited guest participant from the US - Dirk Ficca, who is
working on a social cohesion project in the city of Malmo in cooperation with
several official bodies.
